In July of 2021, ATA Lodge had the distinct honor of hosting the film crew of Our Planet II for two weeks, providing access, lodging, meals and professional services to the film crew. It was a "hush, hush" project, but the secret is now out.... Our Planet II is a new 4-part Netflix series from Silverback Films.

We have just been informed that a group that had booked the chalet every year for two back to back weeks during prime/peak Sockeye Salmon fishing weeks, have had to back out. So, we now have spaces for 6-8 anglers, during each of two weeks that are rarely available, to have access to our best accommodation during our 2 best Sockeye Salmon fishing and Bear Viewing weeks of July 2-9 and July 9-16, 2023. After a year of uncertainty due to Covid, we are sure glad to be "back at it" up here at ATA Lodge, on the Wild Alagnak River! June 8th is always the season opener up here, and the trout have not seen a fly in the 8 months since we left last September!  So we are always excited to get back on the water and wet a fly.    In fact, June may well be my personal favorite time to be on the river.  The salmon haven't arrived yet.  There aren't many guests that come up for just the trout fishing.  We've been missing the beauty of the river and area and are so happy to look over the meadow...

I've heard it said that a picture paints a thousand words!  So I thought I'd let some of our photos from July "tell the story" of how things have been going so far this season!!

With only 3 months to go before opening day on the Alagnak Wild River of Bristol Bay, Alaska; ATA Lodge is looking forward to another great season.   It is about this time we start to get that itchy feeling that starts tingling from the very tips of our toes as we anticipate the beginning of another season on what could be considered one of the very best rivers anywhere in the world for what we love to do....and boy do we love to catch fish!
