We have just been informed that a group that had booked the chalet every year for two back to back weeks during prime/peak Sockeye Salmon fishing weeks, have had to back out. So, we now have spaces for 6-8 anglers, during each of two weeks that are rarely available, to have access to our best accommodation during our 2 best Sockeye Salmon fishing and Bear Viewing weeks of July 2-9 and July 9-16, 2023. We are offering group bookings of 6-8 at a very special price for this type of unique opportunity. ATA Lodge, situated on the Wild and Scenic Alagnak River of Bristol Bay, in Southwest Alaska is anticipating another fantastic season in 2023 after an Epic Season in 2022!! What can we say about the 2022 season that has just finished? My concern in not about what to say, but rather, how do I fit it all in to one fishing report!!! 2022 was our busiest season ever at ATA Lodge and what a fantastic crew and group of guests we had this year! Our guests, also had an amazing time experiencing all the fabulous fishing in one of Alaska's most pristine and beautiful locations, remotely located far away from the crowds, and filled with adventure. 2022 saw the season...
ATA Lodge has been having a fantastic season this year. What a comeback after the chaos of Covid last season! We have been so busy with the best guests ever and a lot of great fish being caught! As June closed the trout fishing remained strong, with so many big trout being caught and released! We have lost count of the trout over 24" with many over 28" and the biggest taping out at 31"inches long!!! By the 1st of July we were marking Sockeye in the river. Little did we know what was about to transpire! This year saw over 64 million Sockeye Salmon return the watersheds of Bristol Bay. This year's run shattered all existing records,...

June 8th is always the season opener up here, and the trout have not seen a fly in the 8 months since we left last September! So we are always excited to get back on the water and wet a fly. In fact, June may well be my personal favorite time to be on the river. The salmon haven't arrived yet. There aren't many guests that come up for just the trout fishing. We've been missing the beauty of the river and area and are so happy to look over the meadow...
I've heard it said that a picture paints a thousand words! So I thought I'd let some of our photos from July "tell the story" of how things have been going so far this season!!
