July has been a blast! We have had a full house every week, with lots of happy clients catching more fish than they ever imagined possible! What a season at ATA Lodge on the Alagnak Wild River and we are only half way through!
ATA Lodge had a great weekend March 23-24th attending the The London Fly Fishing Fair 2018 Hand's down this has to be Europe's new "Must Attend" event on anyone's Fly Fishing Calendar! Wayne, Sue, and Megan McGee together with Eric Aborgast were on the stand for ATA at this year's LFFF 2018. Once again, The Business Design Center in Downtown London was the venue for this year's 2nd Annual London Fly Fishing Fair. There was a great "vibe" and real "buzz" at this year's show and the Father and Son team of organizers, John and Fergus Kelly did a splendid job once again of putting together an event that has done London proud. ATA Lodge is a remote fly in lodge located in the stunning setting of the Katmai National Park and Preserve. This half hour long film shows the majesty of the Katmai Wilderness and the prolific fishing for all 5 species of Pacific Salmon that only Bristol Bay watersheds can produce.
Drama on the Wild Alagnak River…. After a day of wearing ourselves out catching heaps of Big, Beautiful Leopard Rainbow Trout and Grayling, new guy Jon is out fishing at midnight last night….I guess he hadn’t had enough earlier in the day….well he did only just get here and....yesterday it was Opening Day…so who can blame him really if he’s pretty keen to experience the best of what the Alagnak River has to offer….and we are of course in the land of the Midnight Sun…sooooo back to the tale…. New girl Katlyn is standing down on the dock watching Jon fish, when Katie yells for Jon to look behind him as there is a Mother Moose and her Calf hoofing it...
